Woman Saga

The hand that rocks the cradle rules   the world. She turned her can'ts into cans and her dreams into plans. The call for emancipation and empowerment of women has increased at an alarming rate and is one of the most discussed issue of the society and the world.   Women has always been the target of opression and was treated like a different species. Despite the fact that women make up half the world's total population, statistics show that 60% of those living in extreme poverty are women and around 60% of the illiterate adults in the world arre women. The main reason for women's radicalism is that she wants equality and freedom and she wants to come out of her sphere. But how can we make this into reality. Raising awareness of women's rights and facilitating access to social, economic, legal and political framework and and treating them at par with men are some of the steps taken by revolutionary groups. Providing vocational education, preventing female foeticide an d infanticide, increasing lteracy, equiping them with self defence techniques and providing them with more health facilities and job opportunities will help women sensitize about their rights to her body and mind, inculcate feelings of self worth and confidence and put them into control of their own destiny. Empowering and emancipating women is one of the most effective tools for improving the lives of families, communities and nations all over the world. A woman is like a teabag; you never know how strong she is until you put her in hot water. As Morrie Esquite mentioned in her writngs, "I am a woman and if I live, i fight; and if I fight,   I contribute to liberation of all women and so victory is born even in the darkest hours."
